Buffalo’s public schools
have undergone considerable change. With the addition of charter
schools, which are independent public schools, parents now have
more choices. This section of the website was created to help
parents choose a school that will meet the needs of their children.

Compare School Characteristics
This section provides basic information on all public schools in the City of
Buffalo. Information includes school location and contact information, results
of test scores for the New York State English Language Arts and Math assessment,
services available within the school, and school demographics.
Any student wishing to attend schools in the Buffalo Public School System
can choose, and receive transportation to any non-magnet school, without
entrance requirement on a first come-first serve basis. If you need more
information about individual charter schools, either call the school or
click here, which includes web sites for
those charter schools that have them.
