Welcome to Good Schools for All

Good Schools    Good Schools for All is a strategic partnership of stakeholders- foundations, businesses, educators, parents, and the community-at-large - committed to developing innovative ideas and practices to improve student achievement in Buffalo's public schools. These stakeholders recognize that urban public education is the responsibility of an entire community, have become engaged in projects that help Buffalo's 47,000 public school students.

Why does Buffalo Need Good Schools for All?

Buffalo's public school students need Good Schools for All perhaps now more than ever. The education in the 21st century faces many challenges, both in and out of the classroom. The federal No Child Left Behind act holds all public schools and the students accountable to attain steady progress to reach the highest academic standards. Over the past several years, student performance in the Buffalo Public School district as a whole has improved in some areas. Yet, the achievement gap is still wide. Good Schools for All brings new resources - human and financial - to issues facing our students.

What Does Good Schools for All actually do?

We are a change-agent organization that undertakes large projects to improve student achievement. We identify the obstacles that interfere with achievement, collaboratively design solutions to address them, bring together the people and organizations to implement key projects that will make a difference, and then assess the effectiveness of the projects.
